Hyaluronic Acid or "HA"- What is it?
Hyaluronic acid, also known by the short form "HA", is a naturally occurring polymer of disachharides, sometimes referred to as the "goo" molecule, found throughout the extra cellular matrix. Hyaluronic acid functions as a primary component of synovial fluid, the friction-reducing joint lubricant. It also helps to make the cartilage between bones more elastic. HA levels decrease as your horse ages and with strain, stress and compression joint problems often occur. HA is considered highly biocompatible and has been used successfully for years to promote opthalmic healing and in the treatment of osteoarthritic conditions.

Hyaluronic Acid + Glucosamine and Chondroitin
Cenflex HA+ works by raising the available levels of HA in the body to adequately supply the joints. Glucosamine and Chrondroitin primarily work with the tendons and cartilage tissue to stimulate collagen development and help reduce inflammation. Glucosamine and Chrondroitin work synergistically together with HA to improve cartilage integrity and joint fluid levels. There is the added benefit of having a probiotic formula with the EQUZYME, thus ensuring that the product will be properly metabolized by the horse's body.

Veterinarians use HA
Veterinarians use HA through direct injection into the joint suffering from HA loss. Joint fluid viscosity, and its cushioning ability, is rapidly increased to help restore the horse's healthy movement. More and more Veterinarians are recognizing and using orally in jested HA as a method of increasing the availability of HA to the joints. They have found that daily application takes away the performance peaks and valleys associated with injections and in many cases reducing the need for injections.

Your horse can benefit from HA
Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in the horse's body. As a horse ages, or is under the stress of exercise and performance its ability to produce HA diminishes. From a mechanical point of view, anything with moving parts, such as a car engine, will experience friction wear and damage when the viscosity of the lubricant breaks down. It only makes sense that the joints in your horse's body will also suffer wear and potentially irreversible damage from the inability of its body to produce the required levels of HA. Administering HA can help promote vital joint lubrication and support healthy joint function.
